The Netherlands is about as close as you can get to Belgium, but Amsterdam has just moved as far away as possible from Brussels, the malign headquarters of the increasingly fascistic European Union, and has told it to take its regulations regarding things like "climate change" and immigration and stuff them where the sun don't shine. "No wasting billions on pointless climate hobbies, but more money for our people," the newly forming coalition Dutch government's Geert Wilders, has said. "We have been made to fear climate change for decades... We must stop being afraid."
Coming on the heels of regime change in Italy and Argentina, the Dutch Nation's revolution against the power of the internationalist State is another manifestation of the rejection of the New World Order so loudly proclaimed at the beginning of the Great Covid Panic of 2019-22 by European and American bureaucrats and their apparatchiks in the media. Led philosophically and practically by the bonzes of Davos under Klaus Schwab, they openly proclaimed "the Great Reset," opportunistically piggy-backing onto the Chinese-manufactured (with help from Anthony Fauci & Co.) Covid virus, sending the world into an economic tailspin and helping facilitate the election of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., as president of the United States.
[UPDATE: Schwab has resigned as executive chairman of the WEF.]
The Pipeline responded to this totalitarian nonsense in 2022 with the publication of Against the Great Reset: Eighteen Theses Contra the New World Order. Featuring essays by David Goldman, Douglas Murray, Victor Davis Hanson, and the late Angelo Codevilla, among many other first-class writers and thinkers, the book is now out in a new paperback edition, with a specially commissioned cover illustration by the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist, Michael Ramirez. The only way to stop bullies is to stand up to them, destroy their arguments with facts and logic, and ridicule them, and that's what we've done.
It's working. The book has 129 ratings on Amazon, 80 percent of them five stars. It's not a summer beach read, but 480 pages of argumentation, attacking the whole idea of the Great Reset from political, economic, personal, practical, and cultural-religious perspectives to form a wholesale indictment of the global "elite" and their nostrums for humanity -- one of which is that there should be altogether less of it. "“If I’m brutally honest," said "climate scientist" Bill McGuire in a since-deleted X post, "the only realistic way I see emissions falling as fast as they need to, to avoid catastrophic climate breakdown, is the culling of the human population by a pandemic with a very high fatality rate.”
A sample of McGuire's overheated climate alarmism:
"If the fracturing of our once stable climate doesn’t terrify you, then you don’t fully understand it. The reality is that, as far as we know, and in the natural course of events, our world has never — in its entire history — heated up as rapidly as it is doing now. Nor have greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere ever seen such a precipitous hike. Think about that for a moment. We’re experiencing, in our lifetimes, a heating episode that is probably unique in the last 4.6 billion years.
As you can plainly see, the alarmists are getting more desperate, upgrading the blatant counter-factual of "climate change" to "climate catastrophe" while insisting upon ever more restrictive diminutions of our lives, liberties, and freedoms. Currently, we are seeing the mass movements of peoples from the global South into the North, a phenomenon driven by the intersection of poisonous "progressivism," institutional weakness and the ever-expanding welfare state, which has now been extended to al comers.
This development however is explained away in part by attributing it to "climate change"; left unexamined is why the folks in Mexico, Central and South America, North Africa, and China are fleeing "change" when, according to Western governments, we ourselves are currently experiencing "climate change" as well. In my own dear Ireland, for example, the current coalition government, spearheaded by the Greens, is hell-bent on proving that an island the size of Indiana can house the entire population of the Ukraine plus sub-Saharan Africa without breaking a sweat -- although increasing the current numbers from roughly five million to 1.5 billion might prove ecologically challenging.
One upside of the Covid hoax is the now near-total loss of credibility by the "elites" on matters of public policy. Pressure is increasing on bringing Fauci, the NIH, and the other purveyors of anti-Constitutional lockdown policies to justice, and to ensure that something like this never happens again.
Popular figures like McGuire who argue that climate change is posing a crisis have been increasing the intensity of their rhetoric over the past few years. When new temperature data showed record high temperatures last year, United Nations Secretary Antonio Gutierrez referred to it as the “era of global boiling.” Last month, U.N. Climate Secretary Simon Stiell declared that we have only two years to save the world, although the U.N. said in 2019 that number was 11 years. There are even more frequent calls to criminalize “climate denial,” as was recently argued by popular British meteorologist Jim Dale, as well as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
If polling data is any indication, the rhetoric may be having the opposite effect of what’s intended. A Monmouth University poll released earlier this month found that, while a wide majority of people believe climate change is happening (73%), a shrinking portion of people believe that climate change poses a very serious problem. The last time the poll was run, in 2021, it found that 56% of Americans viewed climate change as a very serious issue, but the latest poll shows only 46% see it that way. Support for government action has likewise taken a tumble...
Just for the record, here's what UNESCO wrote on its website: "Climate denial has increased the risk of catastrophic global change. Should international criminal law be used against those who promote this dangerous trend? Economic and political leaders can no longer pretend it is business as usual. Whether they actively induce environmental harm or just ignore the existential threat against the survival of the human species, states and corporations must be held accountable for their actions or inaction regarding climate change."
Well, get them before they get you, is my motto, and if the eventual exposure of the "climate change" hoax hastens the collapse of the U.N. that's a feature not a bug. But there's nothing that the media, handmaidens to the WEF and the E.U., loves more than panic porn, retailing scare story after scare story (they're trying to make "bird flu" happen right now) in order to keep the rubes and suckers in line. Not only do they push the Narrative every chance they get, the hall monitors also employ social media attack dissenters, flagging, reporting, snitching their black little hearts out.
The media, therefore, is the target of our next "Against" book: Against the Corporate Media: Forty-Two Ways the Press Hates You, which will be published on Sept. 10 this year. You can pre-order it here.
Despite the pressure from the entrenched Rackets that currently control the majority of the European and American governments, despite the damage they've already done and the punishment for disobedience they're promising for the future, and despite their unholy combination of malevolence and ineptitude, there continues to be some reasons for optimism.
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself," said FDR in his first inaugural address in 1933:
This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory.
Victory is a word we no longer hear very often these days. But as Israel is learning in its righteous war in Gaza, a response to an unjustified and treacherous enormity that must be avenged against an existential enemy that must be annihilated, victory is the only thing that matters. Americans and Europeans who owe their allegiance to their Nations, and not to the bureaucrats of their States, are similarly if less kinetically at war, battling an internal but international enemy that wishes to destroy their boundaries, customs, and ways of life in the name of spurious superseding virtues like "tolerance" and "diversity." The time to stop them is now.
I don't think that there was actually regime change in Italy. More like a fake populist scam. Meloni being all in on the EU and NATO made her immigration policy impossible and aligned her with the globalist war on Russia. Too soon to tell on Argentina and the Netherlands.
