And Now, 'Ecocide'

It's us or Mother Earth.

In a recent column I discussed the supposedly "debunked conspiracy theory" -- though I much prefer the term "spoiler alert" -- that this whole "climate change" wheeze is about global depopulation. It really feels like they aren't bothering to hide it anymore.

John Kerry, the soon-to-be-former "climate czar," continually lectures us about how a warmer planet cannot feed so many people, so we’ll need to cool the planet or starve, which would be news to every farmer, rancher, historian, and demographer who ever lived. He should read up on the mass starvations that came about because of volcanic winters, when particularly violent volcanic eruptions lowered global temperatures a degree or two leading to crop failures all over the world.

Now a Davosie named Jojo Mehta, probably right before her midday repast of sumptuous morsels plucked lovingly from distant organic and free-range farms, ranches and fisheries and flown (as was she) on a private jet to the gas-fired stoves and fossil-fuel-heated-and -cooled ballrooms and suites of Switzerland, has been pontificating that farming and fishing is "a serious crime" and must be recognized as such by law:

Speaking from the WEF’s summit at the luxury Swiss ski resort, “Stop Ecocide Now” founder Jojo Mehta argued that fishing and framing should be considered equal to “genocide.” Mehta insisted that fishing and farming for food should be a “serious crime” while arguing that it is immoral to make money from these industries.

“We have this cultural, very ingrained habit of not taking damage to nature as seriously as we take damage to people or property,” she told world leaders, bureaucrats, and corporate elites at the event. She continued by claiming that farming, fishing, and presumably hunting, are “mass damage and destruction of nature.”

We all know that these people are Luddites who hate the Industrial Revolution for raising global living standards, at least in part by burning fossil fuels. But the significance of this story is that they ultimately hate the Agricultural Revolution just as much. They'd prefer that mankind hadn't invented spears or bows and arrows or fishing hooks or traps to catch wild animals for food. Which is to say, they don't even want us to be hunter-gatherers! In fact, by this woman's reckoning, it's hard to imagine how we could even survive on bugs, which after all, are a product of nature against whom we don't want to be committing crimes.

When you boil it down, they essentially just want us -- or the vast majority of us -- dead. How's that for a spoiler?

  1. Take these Eco-Freak Idiots and strand them in the wilderness and let's see them get a close look at Nature in the raw, none of the fake stuff they're used to. Idiots from The Extinction Rebellion, Just Stop Oil Animal Rebellion, no fake pictures from Greenpeace Environmental Defense Fund and the NRDC Etc.

  2. She doesn't look like she's missed any meals. Where does her food come from? The simple fact that she has time to go to Davos to bleat about "ecocide" tells me she's not busy growing all of her own food at home.

WE are the carbon they want to reduce. Never forget it.
